Jargon Design is a partnership between John & Greg Fyfe, Father & Son from Livingston, West Lothian, Scotland.
We undertake web-page and graphic
design projects for individuals, groups and charities,
partly as a learning experience and partly to give these people a strong visual
identity and well structured web-pages
without being "charged the earth" by so called "professionals".
We began developing websites for
family and friends some time ago, however it was only when we
started development on the web-site for the Hummingbird Ball, a charity event in
aid of Diabetes UK Scotland,
that we decided that we needed a visual identity of our own.
The name, Jargon Design is
derived from attempts to use a word which not only embedded
our initials, but somehow showed what we were involved in.
The word "jargon" is defined as
1. Specialised language concerned
with a particular subject, culture, or profession.
2. Language characterised by pretentious vocabulary or meaning.
3. Gibberish.
We decided that the first definition
seemed to say what we were about,
and it is our intention to avoid, if possible ,
being associated with either of the other definitions.
